A total of over 800 individuals who were experiencing homelessness in Malaysia were rescued and transported to homeless shelters. Desa Bina Diri is one of the organizations that provides services for the homeless, such as vocational training, to aid impoverished individuals in reintegrating into society. This research experiment aimed to determine whether there is a correlation between the level of self-esteem and the stage of readiness to work among individuals undergoing work training in homeless institution. The study employed a quantitative research design. Data on the demographics of 41 individuals was collected. This study employed the LAM Assessment on Stage of Employment Readiness (LASER) and Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES) to evaluate the degree of self-esteem and stage of employment readiness among adults who undergo work training in homeless institution.  The correlation between the stage of work readiness and level of self-esteem was analysed using one-way ANOVA statistical analysis. 18 responders, accounting for 43.9% of the total, were in the contemplating stage. The findings indicate a statistically significant correlation between the stage of work readiness and the level of self-esteem. The study revealed that adults in the action stage exhibited significantly higher self-esteem compared those who were in the precontemplation stage. The study on work readiness and self-esteem levels among this population was insufficient. Therefore, it is advised that future researchers go more deeply into this topic.
