Abstrak Kajian
In this century, the issue of the management of elderly in Malaysia has become increasingly important as a result of the aging process of the population. The number of elderly in Malaysia is expected to increase and reached 3.42 million in 2020. The increase in elderly population has caused the occurrence of high demand for the provision of services and infrastructure to elderly people so they can live a normal life and not idle. This research was conducted at the Rumah Seri Kenangan Johor Bahru (RSKJB) which is an institution under the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM). This study was conducted using qualitative methods of descriptive statistical method which consisted of interviews and data analysis methods. The study involved 10 respondents from different RSKJB staff department, role and experience. The main objective of this study was to identify the problems encountered in the management of elderly in ensuring the welfare of elderly in the RSKJB. Interview results indicate management problem faced by RSKJB is the attitude of the staff and management of elderly and followed by problems of infrastructure management, finance, human resources, needs and toiletries, number of occupants, health, personal and communication.
